After about 1,500 miles (2,400 km) of driving, ever changing natural landscapes, and a couple mechanical issues with our Lazy Daze, we arrived in Austin TX last week. We biked the lush, green, and convenient 10 mile bike & hike trail around the Colorado river several times, for example to get to our favorite food truck "The Vegan Nom" (try their Birdie Sanders tacos!). We may or may not have a crush on Austin…
Exploring aside, let’s get to the research part of things. Remember our purpose: We want to understand and showcase sustainable business and consumption (Certified B Corps and ecovillages/ILCs) on our journey throughout the USA.
Our first B Corp interview was with Daniel Nicholson, the President and CEO of NadaMoo! NadaMoo is a vegan ice cream brand based out of Austin, but rapidly conquering the US with their delicious, plant-based, and fair trade ice cream. NadaMoo is a family-owned business that goes back to 2005, but really took off in the last decade. They became B Corp certified in 2018. Daniel Nicholson has been with the company from inception to growth, and he’s a very passionate leader. All of that sounded right up our alley, so on a rainy Sunday morning, we biked from our campground to the NadaMoo headquarters, where Daniel -masked and distanced, no handshakes- showed us around and let us sample some ice cream.

They have the best vegan ice cream of all time. One of my bucket list items is, no lie, to visit their sticks and bricks ice-cream shop and try all the flavors <3
